38 killed in an attack in central Mali

At least 38 people were killed in an attack carried out by unidentified gunmen in Gangafani and Yoro villages in central Mali.

Bamako: Unidentified gunmen attacked and killed 38 people in Gangafani and Yoro villages in central Mali. According to reports, the victims belonged to the ethnic Dogons group. In response to the incident, the government sent a military unit in that area to hunt down the wrongdoers.

The members of the Dogan and Fulani groups often fight with each other over the access to land and water.

Nobody had claimed responsibility for the attack. Recently in another attack 95 Dogans were killed.
