Hyderabad: Filmmaker Vignesh Shivan on Sunday encountered the 'friendly neighbourhood' Spider-Man Tobey Maguire, living the childhood dreams of most 90s kids. The filmmaker is currently attending the Cannes Film Festival 2023 and dropped a selfie with the Hollywood icon. Anurag Kashyap, who is screening his movie Kennedy at the famous international event, bumped into Vignesh and posted pictures with him on his social media handle.

Vignesh took to his Instagram handle and shared a picture with Tobey Maguire and captioned the post as "With Your friendly neighbourhood #SpiderMan at the world premiere of #killersoftheflowermoon @festivaldecannes @mdf_cannes #cannes." In the picture, both of them could be seen twinning in black suits and smiling at the camera as Vignesh took their photo.
Fans flocked to the comment as soon as he shared the post with one commenting, "Every 90’s kids dream😍😍😍 To have a selfie with our childhood heroes 😢😢." Another commented, "The whole American Paparazzi is terrified of my man and you took a pic with him? 😂 Anyway this has to be your once in your lifetime dream happening."

A few moments later, Anurag Kashyap also shared pictures of himself with Vignesh and Pradeep Ranganathan from their encounter at Cannes. Sharing the pictures, he wrote in the caption, "Somehow we always meet here .. @wikkiofficial and me .. and this time joined by the wonder kid @pradeep_ranganathan on his first trip to the @festivaldecannes. Watching, talking and eating cinema." Taking to Instagram Stories, Vignesh shared Anurag's post and wrote, "With the genius!" Sharing the picture of the trio together, he wrote, "Two of my fav directors! And a couple of good crazy actors."

Meanwhile, Vignesh and Pradeep Ranganathan have collaborated for their next Tamil rom-com movie, rumoured to be titled LIC. On the other hand, Anurag Kashyap will showcase his thriller movie Kennedy at the Midnight Screening at Cannes Film Festival 2023. The movie features Rahul Bhat in the lead role and Sunny Leone, Aamir Dalvi and Abhilash Thapliyal in significant roles.
