Hyderabad: The official trailer of the upcoming action-thriller series Saas Bahu aur Flamingo was released on Monday. The show, which stars Dimple Kapadia, Radhika Madan, Angira Dhar, and Isha Talwar, is a modern saas-bahu saga in which the women of a house engage in bloody fights in an effort to run a business empire and dispel stereotypes. The show is slated to release on Disney+ Hotstar on May 5.
The trailer was posted to Instagram by the production company Maddock Films with the caption, "Here Queens are the Kings. #HotstarSpecials #SaasBahuAurFlamingo All episodes to stream from 5th May only on @disneyplushotstar." The focus of the show is on trying to redefine the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship by giving it a new dimension.
The story revolves around the matriarch Savitri, her daughters-in-law Bijli and Kajal, and her daughter Shanta, who live in Hastipur, a remote village in India's northwest. The series is directed and created by Homi Adajania, and it centres on these four remarkable women. Savitri is the owner of Rani Cooperative, a business that deals in everything from textiles to jari-booti balms. It turns out later that the biggest drug cartel operating in South Asia is actually hidden behind their cottage industry.
Talking about her character, actor Dimple Kapadia in an interview had said: Saas Bahu aur Flamingo is challenging for me to describe as a journey because it is unlike anything I have ever seen or experienced before. Savitri doesn't curl up and die when tragedy strikes and the world rejects her; instead, she rises from the ashes and forges her own path. She only trades in trust as money." She further adds that Savitri is the most intimidating saas you have ever seen and she is captivating to watch.
