As the trailer hints, the Guntur Kaaram storyline revolves around an underworld don in Guntur, who falls in love with a journalist unravelling the city's illicit activities. This film marks the third collaboration between Mahesh Babu and director Trivikram Srinivas, following their successful ventures in the blockbuster hit Athadu and ill-fated Khaleja.
Mahesh Babu aside, Guntur Kaaram boasts a stellar cast, including Sreeleela, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishnan, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Brahmanandam and more in pivotal roles.
Directed and written by Trivikram Srinivas, the film features music by S Thaman, cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa and PS Vinod, and editing by Naveen Nooli. Initially planned with Pooja Hegde in the lead, scheduling conflicts led to Sreeleela taking up the main role while Meenakshi Chaudhary was cast as the second female lead.
This Sankranthi will witness a clash of four films, offering audiences a varied choice. Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram will face competition from Venkatesh’s Saindhav, Teja Sajja’s HanuMan and Nagarjuna’s Naa Saami Ranga at the box office.
