Hyderabad: Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit Nene's mother Snehlata Dixit has passed away. According to a source, Madhuri's mother died on Sunday morning. She was ninety years old. Snehlata Dixit's last rites are expected to take place today at around 3:00 p.m. at the Worli crematorium. Madhuri's mother's cause of death is still unknown.

Madhuri used to address her mother as 'aai.' Earlier, on her mother's birthday, Madhuri had shared a heartfelt note for her on her Instagram handle. The actress wrote: Aai, happy birthday! A mother is supposedly a daughter's best friend. They couldn't possibly be more correct. The greatest gift you have given me out of all that you have done for me is the lessons that you have taught me. I simply have your health and happiness in mind.
