Hyderabad: The Kerala Story, a film directed by Sudipto Sen, has been performing remarkably well at the box office, and it appears that there would be no stopping it. Over the course of the second weekend, the movie continued to pull audiences to the theaters. The film became the second-highest-grossing Hindi film of the year after passing the Rs 150 crore mark in a string of 11 days of strong box office performance.
The movie is edging closer to Rs 200 crore, according to early estimates. It's possible that the movie will surpass the threshold this week. The Kerala Story made Rs 9 crore on Saturday, the sixteenth day of its worldwide premiere. The movie has already made a total of about Rs 180 crore. It also made more money than the Friday haul.
The film, which stars Adah Sharma and Yogita Bihani in key roles, explores the serious topic of religious conversions and centers on three women. Vipul Shah produced the contentious movie, which has received conflicting reviews from viewers. However, many referred to it as a propaganda movie.
Responding to the allegations, Vipul Shah said, "The film has had a tremendous journey, but there is still a long way ahead. Numerous accusations were made against us as well. We were compared to a propaganda movie and other things. But to all of that, the audience has responded. The film has received a lot of affection from the audience, which is a suitable response to all of those accusations. Many states, including West Bengal, called for the ban of the movie.
