Hyderabad: A Mumbai Special CBI Court on Friday acquitted actor Sooraj Pancholi in the sensational Jiah Khan death case, in which he was charged with abetment to suicide. The verdict was announced after nearly 10 years of Jiah's tragic death in her Mumbai flat, around midnight on June 3, 2013. Sooraj took to social media to hail the verdict, while Jiah's mother Rabia Khan said she will move High Court and if needed will go to Supreme Court for the justice.

Soon after the justice was announced in Jia Khan's suicide case, Sooraj took to his Instagram Stories and wrote, "The truth always wins," followed by folded hand emoji and a red heart. He concluded his post with "#God Is Great."

On the other hand, Jiah's mother Rabia was seemingly dismayed by the court's verdict in her daughter's suicide case. Rabia was mobbed by media outside the court and was quizzed about her next move following the CBI court's verdict. Rabia, who has been fighting the case for a decade, said that her daughter will get justice and in pursuit of the same she will move HC and if needed will go to SC.

Rabia has been contesting the prosecution's stand that this was a case of suicide and claimed that her daughter was killed. After the court's verdict, she said the judgment was not surprising and her battle to seek justice for her daughter will continue. "I will fight. This judgment is not surprising I had anticipated this. This is not a case of abetment to suicide it is a case of murder," she said.

Jiah (25), an American citizen, was found dead at her Juhu home here on June 3, 2013. Police later arrested Sooraj on the basis of a six-page letter, purportedly written by the Bollywood starlet.
