Hyderabad: A special event was hosted by Anupam Kher in honour of Satish Kaushik's 67th birthday, and a lot of B-town celebrities were in attendance. The musical performance, dubbed Satish Kaushik Night, also brought back happy memories for his friends and family of the late actor. Everybody was left in tears as they watched Vanshika, Kaushik's daughter, read aloud a letter she had written to her father after his demise. Meanwhile, a video from the event has since gone viral on social media, showing Anil Kapoor sobbing as Anupam Kher calls him to the stage.
Anupam Kher is seen telling the audience about his most recent conversation with Satish Kaushik. He then asks actor and friend Anil Kapoor to come up to the stage. The actor walks down the stairs with some hesitation at first but eventually gives up and goes back to his seat unable to control his tears. Anil, overcome with emotion, declines to accompany Kher and requests that his friend continues without him.

"Anil, come. Both heroes and friends cry," Anupam said calling him on stage. Anil breaks down in tears making Anupam also emotional, who has been putting up a brave face till now. "Anil tu pagal hai," he remarked with tears in his eyes. "Main theek thaak jaa raha tha," he remarked and continued without Anil as he refused to come on stage.
Later in the event, Anil disclosed that Satish Kaushik wasn't feeling well when they were filming their most recent collaboration, Thar (2022). "When we were filming for Thar, I could tell Kaushik wasn't feeling well, and I told him to rest and come back to set only when he felt better. I had such strong feelings for him. I used to say to him, "You come when it's convenient for you. You ought to unwind and take a break. I would always tell him to take his time," the actor recollected, who was not in India at the time of Kaushik's death.
