Haridwar: After the first phase of election concluded on Thursday in Haridwar Lok Sabha constituency, all the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) and Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines have been kept under tight security arrangements until the declaration of the results on May 23.
In order to protect EVMs and VVPAT from any kind of tampering, an area was created with third-tier security arrangements, said officials.
District Magistrate Deepak Rawat said, "EVMs and VVPAT machines were brought from every polling stations of Haridwar Lok Sabha constituency with proper seal and are kept under multiple layers of security."

The entire process has been videographed and to give protection to the EVMs and VVPAT machines, ITBP jawans were also deployed, Rawat added.
