Hailakandi(Assam): Election Commission teams have seized over Rs 4.5 lakh unaccounted cash from two different places in Hailakandi district, a government release said on Monday.
A sum of Rs 3.47 lakh was seized from a vehicle at Lala bypass (Chandrapur) on Sunday and one person been detained for the unaccounted cash, it said. In another incident at Gaglacherra bridge, Rs 1.10 lakh was seized from a person.

Following the enforcement of Model Code of Conduct for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Rs 12.88 lakh cash, 950 grams of narcotic drugs, IMFL and country liquor worth
Rs 1.21 lakh have been seized in the district so far, the release added.
