One dead and another injured in fireworks factory blast in Thiruvananthapuram

A person was killed and another injured following an explosion at a fireworks factory in Palode, a village situated in Trivandrum district, Kerala, on Wednesday. The preliminary assumption is that the fire was caused by lightning.

Thiruvananthapuram: A person was killed and another critically injured following an explosion at a fireworks factory in Palode, Trivandrum district, Kerala, on Wednesday.

Susheela (58) was killed in the fire, while the factory owner Silas (60) who was grievously injured has been admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital for medical treatment.

The preliminary assumption is that the fire which was caused by lightning might've led to the explosion.

The impact of the blast can be understood from the fact that the shed was completely destroyed.
