Several abandoned localities and buildings have turned into liquor or drug dens across the state. The gravity of the situation can be gauged from the fact that students are reportedly skipping their classes to do drugs.

Troubled by the intoxicated youngsters, the locals in the area can often be heard complaining about them creating chaos in the public on most evenings.

Despite lodging several complaints with the police, the locals have accused the administration of failing to effectively monitor the drug flow into the state and to conduct regular patrols in the areas chosen as dens.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Kulvinder Singh, DSP, Theog, assured action on their part and said, "We (police) will patrol the area at least twice a day, and anyone who is found intoxicated will have to undergo a medical test and will be punished if found guilty."
