" I am going out in search of a job, as I have to fend for my family. There is no other way, I have small children back home and can't let my family starve to death. Here I am not getting any job. At least if I go to some other state then definitely I will get work. I planning to go back to the company in Surat, Gujarat, as they will pay me a daily wage of Rs 300 and provide me food. Though there is a fear of the pandemic, I don't have any other alternative," Anwar, a youth working in Surat said.

"There are no jobs being provided despite the assurance by the Bihar Government. That is why we are travelling out of the state. We are willing to work in our home state, but are forced to go out as our situation is pathetic. At least by going to some other state, we can earn around Rs 200-300 daily by doing some labour work," a migrant labourer speaking to ETV Bharat said.
