Child stays with body for two days after father's death

The father and child had been residing at NTPC colony in East Ram Krishna Nagar in Patna before the 45-year-old man died of Covid.

Patna (Bihar): A 45-year-old man who had been residing with his daughter, aged 8, in the NTPC colony of East Ram Krishna Nagar, Ward No 32, Patna passed away due to Covid.

With none to help, the 8-year-old daughter of the deceased had to stay two days with the body of her father amidst the risk of infection.

"As soon as the information was received, CPI (ML) State Committee member Ranvijay Kumar arrived at the spot and the district administration was also informed about the same, but till late evening no help was provided," CPI (ML) Central Committee Member and Phulwari MLA Gopal Ravidas said.

After a lot of struggle, the body was taken out and sent to the ghat for the last rites. The CPI (ML) MLA Gopal Ravidas said that they were informed about the incident by neighbours.

According to information the person had died of Corona infection two days ago.

At present, the daughter of the deceased is staying with the landlord and is being tested for Coronavirus. The family of the deceased hail from Hilsa in Nalanda district, and had rented a house in Patna.
