Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh): Six people were killed and at least 24 injured after a double-decker bus and pickup truck rammed into each other on the Lucknow Highway in Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh. The injured have been admitted to the district hospital. The bus was on its way from Punjab to Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh.
As per reports, the traffic police who were inspecting vehicles, gestured the driver of the pick-up truck to park his vehicle on one side of the road. As soon as the driver slowed down his vehicle to oblige to the cop, a double-decker bus plying from behind rammed into it. The impact of the accident was such that both vehicles veered off the road and turn turtle. The accident took place around 5 am.

Locals complained that the region has been a witness to several such accidents, primarily due to interference by the policemen.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the accident in Moradabad. He instructed senior officials to provide all possible assistance to the victims, including better medical treatment to the injured, on priority.
