TMC's Subrata Mukherjee, Madan Mitra and Sovan Chatterjee admitted to SSKM Hospital

Three of the heavyweight Trinamool Congress leaders - Subrata Mukherjee, Madan Mitra and Sovan Chatterjee have been admitted to the SSKM hospital in Kolkata.

Kolkata (West Bengal): Police have admitted TMC leader Subrata Mukherjee to the SSKM Hospital in Kolkata, a few hours after Madan Mitra and Sovan Chatterjee were admitted to the SSKM hospital in Woodburn Block after they had complained of sickness at around 4.45 am.

Earlier, Subrata was taken to SSKM last night as he was feeling sick. However, he had returned to the Presidency Jail late in the night.

The state witnessed high drama since Monday morning after CBI sleuths arrested two Trinamool Congress ministers - Firhad Hakim and Subrata Mukherjee along with present MLA Madan Mitra and former Kolkata Municipal Corporation Mayor Sovan Chatterjee in connection with the 2016 Narada sting tapes case, in which several politicians and a high-ranked police officer were allegedly found accepting cash for providing unofficial favours to the company.

The Calcutta High Court late on Monday had stayed the special CBI court order granting bail to four heavyweight Trinamool Congress leaders, just hours after the lower court granted them interim bail following their arrest earlier in the day in connection with the Narada sting operation case.

All four Trinamool leaders were lodged at the Presidency jail until the case hearing before the high court on Wednesday.

The Narada Sting operation was conducted by Mathew Samuel to expose the high-profile Trinamool Congress leaders and ministers accepting bribes in front of the camera against promises of favours.
