Kannur (Kerala): Janakiamma, a 104-year-old woman from Kannur has fully recovered from the deadly Covid-19 infection and was discharged from the Pariyaram Medical College on Friday. She recovered from the infection in just 11 days. The condition of Janakiamma was critical when she was rushed to the ICU ward of the medical college hospital on May 31 from a Covid Care Centre in Taliparamba.
When Janakiamma was discharged after recovering from Covid, she wrote a new story of survival as she became the oldest person in Kannur district and the fourth in Kerala, to have beaten Covid. It is indeed the collective effort of the doctors and nurses at the hospital behind the achievement.

Kerala Health minister Veena George congratulated all the doctors and other staff of the Kannur Medical College for providing good treatment to Janakiamma. Veena George also greeted Janakiamma, who had beaten the odds, irrespective of her age. Janaki Amma's confidence at this age is an inspiration for everyone to fight the disease, the Minister said.
