Madhya Pradesh tea seller's daughter joins IAF Academy, bags President’s Plaque

Aanchal Gangwal, the daughter of a tea seller from a small district in Madhya Pradesh, is now a flying officer of the Indian Air force. Aanchal who proved her mettle at the Air Force Academy in Hyderabad. She was awarded the President’s Plaque at the combined graduation parade on Saturday.

Neemuch: Against the odds, a 23-year-old Aanchal Gangwal who is a daughter of a tea seller from a Neemuch district in Madhya Pradesh commissioned as Flying Officer in Indian Air Force (IAF) on Saturday and bagged the President’s Plaque.

Flying Officer Aanchal who became the only student from the state to be selected to the flying branch of IAF was awarded the President’s Plaque at the combined graduation parade at IAF Academy Dundigal, Hyderabad on Saturday. Here 123 flight cadets commissioned as officers of the IAF.

Suresh Gangwal father of Anchal who has been running a small tea stall in Neemuch district for a long time, strived hard during his entire life to ensure that his two daughters and one son are provided with all necessary amenities.

Flying OfficerAanchal’s parents couldn’t join her in the ceremony due to the travelling restrictions in the wake of Coronavirus but they were in tears after watching their daughter’s Passing Out Parade ceremony on TV. Her parents are proud of their daughter who has fought all odds and joined one the prestigious profession.

Flying Officer Aanchal is a Computer Science graduate from Sitaram Jaju Government Girls College in Neemuch and had earlier worked as a sub-inspector in the MP Police Department and a labour inspector in MP Labour Department for eight months.

Soon after graduation, she started appearing for AFCAT, and appeared in Services Selection Board (SSB) five times and tasted success in her sixth attempt.

Flying Officer Anchal has become an inspiration for many.
