Haridwar (Uttarakhand): The last king of Nepal, Gyanendra Veer Vikram Shah has reached the Kumbh city in Haridwar to attend the Kumbh Mela. Having offered worship at the famed Dakshina Kali Temple, the royal took a dip in the holy Ganges.

King Gyanendra also took the blessings of Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Kailashanand Giri Maharaj of Niranjani Akhara. Gyanendra Veer Vikram Shah on April 12 accompanied by Kailashanand Giri Maharaj will perform the 'Shahi Snan'.

This is the first time the King of Nepal is enjoying a spiritual journey in Haridwar. After the Shahi Snaan, King Gyanendra will leave for Dehradun.
Nepal's King Gyanendra Veer Vikram Shah says that he considers himself lucky to attend the Mahakumbh in Dharmanagri Haridwar as it's a matter of great virtue. The royal also wished that India and Nepal continue to maintain good relations.

On the other hand, Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Brahmachari Swami Kailashanand Giri of Sri Panchayati Niranjani Akhara says that this tour will add more sweetness to the relations between Nepal and India.
