Couple attacked by unidentified assailants in Guntur, woman dies

Guntur (Andhra Pradesh): A woman was killed and her companion grievously injured as a group of unidentified assailants attacked them near Mangalagiri area of Guntur on Tuesday.

The police, who had received information about the victims, suspected to be a couple, rushed to the spot only to find the woman dead and the other with a serious head injury.

They immediately shifted the couple to a nearby hospital, where the man is currently undergoing treatment and his condition is said to be serious.

Preliminary investigation revealed the identity of the victims and more details are yet to be ascertained.

The police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
