Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Thursday met slum-dwellers from various cities at his official residence in Gandhinagar.
Officials had announced on Wednesday that Rupani would interact with various sections of society and experts once every month to get direct feedback about government schemes.
During the first interaction on Thursday, Rupani told slum-dwellers that his government was committed to end the menace of anti-social elements and liquor consumption, said an official release.
A woman from a slum in Ahmedabad told him that liquor is freely sold near her house, though Prohibition is in place.
Rupani told the invitees that his government was committed to provide houses to every slum-dweller.
Every household would get tap water in the next three years under "Nal Se Jal" scheme, he added.
