Palampur (Himachal Pradesh): Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and Health Minister Vipin Singh Parmar got stuck in the elevator of a private hotel at Palampur on Tuesday.
The incident took place around 11 am and the minister was stuck in the lift for about 10 minutes. However, the emergency staff of the hotel rescued them after a brief operation.
After the rescue operation, the Health Minister said: "The hotel staff should have been more receptive and quick in responding to a crisis. Had it taken a little longer, a tragedy could have happened."
Lakshya Malhotra, HR manager of the hotel denied the allegations of inadequate relief measures and said, "The lift stopped because it was overcrowded and the ministers were rescued only because of the efforts of the hotel staff."
The Chief Minister was in one day visit of the state, where he reached Palampur to meet the former Chief Minister Shanta Kumar.
