Two arrested for selling fake Remdesivir in Delhi

The Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) of Delhi Police from Shahdara district busted a gang selling fake Remdesivir injections and arrested two people involved in this racket.

New Delhi: The Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) of Delhi Police from Shahdara district busted a gang selling fake Remedisivir injections. Police arrested two people involved in this racket and seized 10 fake Remdesivir injections from them.

DPP R Sathiya Sundaram said that the accused have been identified as Anshuman and Karthik, residents of Rohini and Tilak Nagar respectively.

The AATS team was informed on Friday night that some people would arrive at the Cross River Mall in Karkardooma to sell fake Remdesivir and that they would arrive in a Honda City car.

Following the tip-off, the AATS team led by SI Lalit, Head Constable Naveen, Constables Amit and Pramod immediately arrived at the Cross River Mall and began investigating the area.

During checking, when a Honda City car was stopped, a person sitting in the car tried to flee holding a polythene bag in his hand.

When the policemen caught him and checked the polythene, 10 fake Remdesivir injections were found.

It was then that Karthik and Anshuman were arrested and interrogated. Both the accused in the course of investigation admitted saying that they bought the fake Remedisivir injection from a Noida resident Akarshan, who is an acquaintance of Anil, a resident of Laxmi Nagar.

The injection was being sold for Rs 35,000 and earlier fake injections were sold in the Paschim Vihar Nirankari Bhavan area and in West Delhi.
