New Delhi: Anil Chaudhary, chief of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) in a letter to the President of India demanded imposition of the President's rule in the National Capital Region of Delhi. He added that for the past several days, due to inadequacies in the general civil hospital and lack of oxygen availability, people are left to die.

He said that the functioning of the state government in tackling the health disaster has been completely irresponsible and negligent. The Delhi government spent crores of rupees on its false propaganda and publicity, but there was no preparation to deal with the epidemic.

The absence of civil medical arrangements in the National Capital Region of Delhi has forced people to die on the roads while oxygen gas and medicines are being sold, the DPCC chief said. The present scenario proves that the Aam Admi Party (AAP) led Delhi Government has completely failed in discharging its constitutional duties towards the citizens and has deviated from its duties.

Anil Chaudhary wrote in his letter to the President that the law and order in the state have completely crumbled and the state is growing more in chaos in this terrible situation. Most of the national newspapers published in the country have also recently published that the Delhi High Court was forced to comment on the Delhi Government which has shown insensitivity and inaction towards the citizens dying due to lack of oxygen and lack of medical system in the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

The Hon'ble Delhi High Court, on Tuesday, lambasted the Delhi government saying, "Take care of your house. If you cannot do that, then tell us, we will ask the central government to handle it, people are dying."

"It is the constitutional duty of a democratic government to manage proper medical facilities and to protect the lives of its citizens. The state government has not taken any concrete steps in this direction since last year when the epidemic is spreading rapidly. By ignoring the warnings issued by medical scientists from the country and abroad about the corona epidemic, the state government has kept negligent conduct and the result of that is what people of the state are suffering today. The citizens of the state are gasping for breath at the threshold of hospitals and their families are dying. This dreadful scene is being witnessed in every corner of the state. Yes, the poor laborers are on the verge of starving and leaving Delhi, and going back to their states. But the state government is not taking any concrete steps," the DPCC chief said.
