New Delhi: The Bharat Bandh called by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha today drew a mixed response pan India, except for a few cities in Punjab and Haryana. Hundreds of farmers on Friday blocked the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh Ghazipur border as part of their 12-hour Bharat Bandh on completion of 120-days of protest over the three contentious farm laws.

Although there wasn't much effect in Delhi, the farmers blocked the Delhi- Amritsar rail route by sitting on the tracks at Ambala and Amritsar, which led to several train services being disrupted.

Due to the agitation, four Shatabdi trains were cancelled and a considerable impact was witnessed in Ghazipur, wherein farmers blocked railway tracks at 31 locations between Delhi and Punjab.

Even road traffic was badly affected due to the farmer agitation. In some places, the farmers protested in a peaceful manner and took to the streets protesting against the three farm laws in Punjab.

When ETV Bharat questioned the Bharatiya Janata Party on this matter, Sudesh Verma the Spokesperson of the BJP and in-charge of the party's media relations stated that the Bharat bandh held by the farmers was a total failure. He added that the last time farmers had announced Bharat Bandh, that too had no effect and even today the Bharat Bandh was absolutely ineffective.

The BJP Spokesperson said that the farmer leaders through some TV channels, unsuccessfully tried to showcase that the Bharat Bandh was effective, however in reality there was no bandh at all.

Sudesh Verma says that the farmer leaders were trying to spread anarchy even though the Modi government has done a lot for the farmers and is continuously working for their welfare.

He said that leaders like Rakesh Tikait are trying to spread chaos and that people should stop paying heed to him as there is no truth in what he says.
