Chennai: A government school in Tamil Nadu's Tiruvallur district has achieved a world record for creating a 12,000 sq ft logo of 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojana', with the help of students on July 10.
As a part of an awareness program, Aavadi government school formed the logo with the participation of 2000 students.
Tiruvallur district collector Maheshwari Ravikumar, who was the chief guest of the function, awarded the certificate of world record to the headmaster of the school.

Speaking at the event, Ravikumar said that the sex ratio of female to male is less in the district. And, an initiative like this will create awareness among the people. He also urged people to stop female foeticide and prevent child marriage.
'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojana' is a government programme that aims to generate awareness and improve the efficiency of welfare services intended for girls in India.
