Chaibasa (Jharkhand): Around 12 kg IED, hundreds of cartridges, Maoist literature and other explosives were recovered in a search operation, conducted jointly by the police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Jharkhand's Chaibasa district on Saturday.
After getting specific inputs, a joint team of District Force and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) had launched a de-mining operation to trace the explosives.
The IEDs, weighing 4 kg each, were packed in steel containers. They were unearthed from the forest near a village of the district, said CRPF Commandant.
The IEDs were planted to target the security forces, adding that the explosives were immediately destroyed by a bomb disposal squad.
