CM Yediyurappa to clash with the seniors of the BJP?

Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa's statement that he was ready to quit if the BJP high command directs him to do so, has sparked an interesting debate in political circles.

Bengaluru (Karnataka): Speaking to reporters on Sunday in the Assembly, CM Yediyurappa said that he would resign if the party high command and seniors want him to leave, adding he won't agree that there was no alternate leader to replace him in the state BJP."...as long as the Delhi high command has confidence in me, I will continue as the Chief Minister. The day they say they don't want me, I will resign and work day and night for the development of the state," Yediyurappa said in response to a question on attempts to replace him.

When questioned about "alternate leadership", Yediyurappa said, "I will not criticise anyone. I won't agree that there is no alternate person. There will always be alternate persons in the state and the country, so I won't agree that there are no alternate persons in Karnataka, but until the high command has confidence in me I will continue as the Chief Minister."

These words by the CM has sparked a widespread debate in the political arena and is being interpreted that he said this about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to the BJP, there is no alternative leader to PM Narendra Modi in the country and Yediyurappa's statement that there are alternate leaders in the country, indirectly questions BJP's agenda. BS Yediyurappa has been outraged when he was questioned about "alternate leadership" and hence his statement that there is an alternative to the leadership of the country also, is being interpreted as CM BSY is ready to clash with the high command.

In the meantime, few messages have been circulating in social media over the past week, in favour of CM Yediyurappa and against the high command and BL Santosh, National General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party. Yediyurappa's are demanding that he continue as the CM and that he face the next election. It is also being said that the BSY fans are outraged against BL Santosh and have accused the latter of a political conspiracy against BSY.
