Jagan-led govt files false cases against 3 journos in AP

Andhra Police have registered a case against three photojournalists for their alleged involvement in shooting video of a woman constable while she was changing her clothes. However, the accused journalists denied the charges and said that they are being framed as they were bringing to light the police excesses over the past few days on the farmers in Amaravati.

Hyderabad: The YSR Congress Party government led by YS Jaganmohan Reddy, which brought the government order (GO) 2430 to restrain the freedom of the media has put the order in force by slapping cases on three photojournalists on flimsy grounds for their reportage on the ongoing agitating farmers in Amaravati.

The police have filed a case against all three cameramen Maridiah, Ramesh Chaudhary and Krishna under section 354C of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under the provisions of Nirbhaya act. One of the photographers Maridiah is Eenadu staff.

According to the charges, the photojournalists shot the video when a woman constable was changing her dress.

However, the accused journalists denying the charges said that they are being framed as they were bringing to light the police excesses over the past few days on the farmers in Amaravati.

Over the past several weeks media and television channels have been extensively covering the farmers' agitation in the capital region. Police atrocities on women, children and farmers have been widely reported.

In the last one month, the state government has banned several TV channels in Amaravati. All the three journalists who have framed with various charges allege that the Jagan-led government is trying to suppress and intimidate the media.

But according to Tenali Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Srilakshmi, "Many women police personnel are drawn for assembly bandobast. They are given accommodation at Mandadam ZPH school. This morning at around 11:30, cameramen of three channels went there and shot a video of the woman constable while she was changing her dress. They recorded the video through the window of that room."

The journalists say that they received the information that the Mandadam ZPH school is used for police lodging, whereas the children were made to sit outside the class. Villagers and parents took umbrage to this and went to school to register their protest in the midst of police presence. Journalists, photographers and videographers who were already on the spot to cover the event instead became the target of police.

The media found the charges made by the parents, true. The children were indeed sitting outdoors. In one of the rooms, some clothes were even found on tables and chairs on the volleyball court.

THE YCP GOVERNMENT MADE A FALSE CASES AGAINST JOUNALISTS    

The Jagan government, which brought the 2430 to restrain the freedom of the media, has now come into direct action. The false Case has been filed on three photo journalists who is covering the peasant movement in Amaravathi... has deliberately filed a complaint with a female constable and filed cases under various sections. The Nirbhaya Act also enacted the Prevention of Attacks Act against the SC and ST.

    Media and TV channels cover the amaravathi farmers protest and give time to time reports to the public. And also The way the police are acting to suppress the movement is being taken to the public. It has become a containment for the government. Government has looking for the opportunity to take action against media.

     On Wednesday, some photo journalists received an information. The information is Allotting Mandadam village high school rooms in  for police lodging.. where children sit outside Its essence is that villagers and parents clash with school staff and police. Journalists, photographers and videographers reached out to cover the event.  Among them Eenadu photographer Maridiah is one. In those scenes, it is shown that the public accusation is true and that the child is sitting outdoors and read. In one room some cloths on tables and chairs and on the school's volleyball court. Students took photographers along and showed footage of them dressing up on the tables.

    Photographers came out taking photos.. A female police officer was blocked. She asked them.. Why are you taking photos without our permission?. Photographers were photographed on police cell phones. Then photographers left that place.  The police officials have conspired against three media representatives with a female constable. The incident took place between 10-12 am and a case was registered at Tullur police station at 10.30 pm.

    The complaint made by the women conistable.. the women constable is changing their dresses that time the media representatives have shooted the video.  The atrocities committed by the police over the past few days on the farmers of the capital villages.. the media cover all the incidents and informing to the world. That's why The police are harassing media representatives with false allegations.

    Police conistable jyothi case filed against Media representatives Maridiah, Ramesh Chaudhary and Krishna. She has complained that media representatives have criminally infiltrated rooms in public schools. She complained that they had taken the video while she was changing clothes. The IPC 448, 354 (c), 509 Redwith 34, 3 (2) (VA) SC and ST have also registered cases under the Prevention of Attacks Act and the Nirbhaya Act.
