26 members of family beat Covid in Prayagraj

In Prayagraj, 26 members of a family set an example for others by defeating Covid. According to them, Covid appropriate behaviour and yoga helped them tide over the viral infection.

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh): Twenty-six members of a family in the district have set an example for others by defeating Covid-19. The family members who had tested positive in April had supported each other during the crisis. As a result, right from the youngest child to the 86-yr old elderly member who lives on a single kidney recovered from the deadly infection. They defeated Covid-19 by doing yoga, living a moderate life, having nutritious food and ensuring that they followed Covid guidelines.

85-year-old Raghavendra Prasad Mishra lives in South Malaka together with his 8 sons and their families. With one of the members having tested positive in April, all others too were infected. However, the unity and discipline in the family, simple lifestyle, medication and better system of treatment have saved all the members of this family from Covid-19.

The head of the family, Raghavendra Prasad Mishra, had donated one of his kidneys to his son in 2012 and has been since living on a single kidney. The family members were worried when Mishra had tested positive for Covid19. However, Mishra undeterred said that he would recover soon. With a strict regimen of doing daily exercise and yoga, the family head emerged victorious against the Coronavirus.

Dr Munir Mishra, one of Raghavendra Prasad's sons is a dentist by profession, he took care of the entire family despite having contracted the infection. He had been monitoring the BP, pulse and oxygen levels of each and every family member. Arrangements for oxygen were also made for those members whose oxygen levels had declined.

Shashi, the daughter-in-law of Raghavendra Prasad Mishra, is a trained yoga instructor having done her Diploma in Yoga from Rajarshi Tandon Open University and had also undergone training from Baba Ramdev's Ashram. When 26 of the 31 family members tested positive for Covid, it was Shashi who trained them all in doing yoga daily in the morning and evening.
