Determined to contest election as rebel

Hasanuram Ambedkari tells that in 1985, he was a hard-working soldier of the BSP and wanted to contest in the assembly elections. It was then that a big leader of the BSP had taunted him saying "If your wife does not recognize you properly, will anyone else vote for you?" This incident deeply pained Hasanuram and he left the BSP. He then contested as an independent candidate from Khairagarh Assembly in 1988. Since then, he has been continuously fighting elections.

Not even one rupee is spent

Ambedkari Hasanuram says "I'm contesting only to lose. What is the need for banners and election expenses? We need to just go out among the public and request their support. Spending of money is done by heavyweights of big political parties in order to win elections. I have contested in more than 90 big and small elections so far, but have not spent a single rupee to date. Even this time I will not spend money in elections."
