Vistara gets nod to start international flights

Vistara has been allowed to launch international flights, Civil Aviation Secretary said.

New Delhi: Full-service passenger carrier Vistara has been allowed to launch international flights, Civil Aviation Secretary Pradeep Sing Kharola said on Wednesday.

"Vistara has been authorized to mount international flights from now," he told reporters here.

On its part, Vistara said: "We are closely working with the Ministry of Civil Aviation. Specific details will be shared at an appropriate time.

The airline is a joint venture of Tata Sons Ltd and Singapore Airlines Ltd (SIA) in which Tata Sons holds 51 per cent stake in partnership.

At present, its network extends to 24 destinations with over 800 flights a week and a fleet of 22 aircraft.
