Tata, Maruti, Mahindra sold less vehicles in November

Automobile companies saw a poor show in November sales data. Tata, Maruti, Mahindra have a seen a fall in the total sales in November. On the other hand, Hyundai Motor's sales were up by 7 per cent.

New Delhi: Shares of major automobile companies fell on Monday on the back of poor show in November sales data.

Maruti Suzuki India stock fell 1.18 per cent to Rs 7,164.20 on the BSE and 1.31 per cent to Rs 7,151.20 on the NSE. Tata Motors was down marginally by 0.12 per cent to Rs 161.25 on the BSE and 0.05 per cent to Rs 161.45 on the NSE. Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) stock also dropped 1.15 per cent to Rs 523.95 in early trade on the BSE. Later on, it recovered the losses to trade 0.21 per cent up at Rs 531.15. On the NSE, the stock was trading 0.01 per cent down at Rs 530.50.

Mahindra & Mahindra's sales fall 9% in November

Auto major Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) on Sunday reported a 9 per cent decline in total sales in November at 41,235 units. The company had sold 45,101 units in the corresponding month last year, M&M said in a regulatory filing.

In the domestic market, sales were down 7 per cent at 38,614 units last month as compared to 41,564 units in November 2018. Exports also declined 26 per cent to 2,621 units as against 3,537 units in the year-ago month.

Maruti Suzuki India reported 1.9 per cent fall in sales

The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India reported 1.9 per cent fall in sales at 1,50,630 units. The company had sold 1,53,539 units in November last year, MSI said in a statement.

Domestic sales declined by 1.6 per cent at 1,43,686 units last month as against 1,46,018 units in November 2018, it added. Exports in November were down by 7.7 per cent at 6,944 units as against 7,521 units in the corresponding month last year, the company said.

Tata Motors total sales down 25%

Tata Motors on Sunday reported a 25.32 per cent decline in total sales to 41,124 units in November. The company had sold a total of 55,074 units in the same month last year, Tata Motors said in a statement.

Total domestic sales were down 25 per cent at 38,057 units as compared to 50,470 units in November last year, it added.

Bajaj Auto sales marginally down to 4.03 lakh units

Bajaj Auto on Monday reported a marginal dip of 0.9 per cent in total sales at 4,03,223 units in November this year. The company had sold 4,06,930 units in the same month a year-ago.

Domestic sales in November this year were at 2,07,775 units as against 2,34,818 units, showing a decline of 11.5 per cent, Bajaj Auto said in a filing to BSE. Exports in November were at 1,95,448 units as against 1,72,112 units in the corresponding month last year, it added.

Hyundai Motor sales up by 7 %

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) on Sunday reported a 7.2 per cent increase in total sales at 60,500 units in November. The company had sold 56,411 units in the same month last year, HMIL said in a statement.

Domestic sales were up 2 per cent at 44,600 units as against 43,709 units in November 2018, the company added. Exports stood at 15,900 units in the last month, up 25.2 per cent from 12,702 units in November 2018.

Honda Cars sales dip 50%

Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) on Sunday reported 50.33 per cent decline in domestic sales to 6,459 units in November as against 13,006 units in the same month last year.

Toyota Kirloskar sales down 19% at 9,241 units

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) on Monday reported 18.86 per cent decline in total sales for November 2019 at 9,241 units. The company had sold 11,390 units in the same month last year, TKM said in a statement.

Domestic sales stood at 8,312 units as against 10,721 units in the year-ago month, a decline of 22 per cent, it added. Exports, however, were up 38.86 per cent at 929 units in November as compared to 669 units in the same month a year ago.

Ashok Leyland sales down 22%

Hinduja flagship firm Ashok Leyland on Monday reported a 22 per cent decline in total commercial vehicle sales at 10,175 units in November. The company had sold 13,119 units in the same month last year, Ashok Leyland said in a statement.

Domestic commercial vehicle sales were down 25 per cent at 9,377 units as against 12,570 units in the year-ago month, it added.

Hero MotoCorp sales down 15.31%

The country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp on Monday reported 15.31 per cent decline in total sales to 5,16,775 units in November. The company had sold 6,10,252 units in the same month a year ago, Hero MotoCorp said in a statement.

Hero MotoCorp said its domestic sales during the month stood at 5,05,994 units as against 6,01,045 units in November last year, down 15.82 per cent. Exports, however, grew 17 per cent at 10,781 units as compared to 9,207 units in the year-ago month.

Suzuki Motorcycle sales up 23.29%

Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL) on Monday reported 23.39 per cent increase in total sales at 69,755 units in November. The company had sold 56,531 units sold in November last year, SMIPL said in a statement.

Domestic sales during the month stood at 60,855 units as compared to 53,058 units sold in November 2018, a growth of 14.69 per cent, it added.

TVS Motor sales down over 16 pc at 2.66 lakh units

TVS Motor Company on Monday reported 16.64 per cent decline in total sales in November at 2,66,582 units. The company, which primarily makes two-wheelers and three-wheelers, had sold 3,19,965 units in the same month last year, TVS Motor Company said in a statement.

Domestic two-wheeler sales stood at 1,91,222 units last month as compared to 2,60,253 units in November 2018, down 26.52 per cent, it added. Total exports, however, grew 27 per cent to 74,060 units last month as compared to 58,476 units in November 2018.

Commenting on the sales figures Vikesh Gulati, Vice President at Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) said, “The retails of November are better as compared to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) sales”, which is a positive sign.

Further, he said he is quite hopeful the improvement can be seen in the current month too.

Total domestic sales were down 25 per cent at 38,057 units as compared to 50,470 units in November last year, it added.

Bajaj Auto on Monday reported a marginal dip of 0.9 per cent in total sales at 4,03,223 units in November this year. The company had sold 4,06,930 units in the same month a year-ago.

Domestic sales in November this year were at 2,07,775 units as against 2,34,818 units, showing a decline of 11.5 per cent, Bajaj Auto said in a filing to BSE. Exports in November were at 1,95,448 units as against 1,72,112 units in the corresponding month last year, it added.

Domestic sales were up 2 per cent at 44,600 units as against 43,709 units in November 2018, the company added. Exports stood at 15,900 units in the last month, up 25.2 per cent from 12,702 units in November 2018.

Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) on Sunday reported 50.33 per cent decline in domestic sales to 6,459 units in November as against 13,006 units in the same month last year.

Toyota Kirloskar sales down 19% at 9,241 units

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) on Monday reported 18.86 per cent decline in total sales for November 2019 at 9,241 units. The company had sold 11,390 units in the same month last year, TKM said in a statement.

Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL) on Monday reported 23.39 per cent increase in total sales at 69,755 units in November. The company had sold 56,531 units sold in November last year, SMIPL said in a statement.

Domestic sales during the month stood at 60,855 units as compared to 53,058 units sold in November 2018, a growth of 14.69 per cent, it added.

TVS Motor sales down over 16 pc at 2.66 lakh units

TVS Motor Company on Monday reported 16.64 per cent decline in total sales in November at 2,66,582 units. The company, which primarily makes two-wheelers and three-wheelers, had sold 3,19,965 units in the same month last year, TVS Motor Company said in a statement.

Domestic two-wheeler sales stood at 1,91,222 units last month as compared to 2,60,253 units in November 2018, down 26.52 per cent, it added. Total exports, however, grew 27 per cent to 74,060 units last month as compared to 58,476 units in November 2018.

Commenting on the sales figures Vikesh Gulati, Vice President at Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) said, “The retails of November are better as compared to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) sales”, which is a positive sign.

Further, he said he is quite hopeful the improvement can be seen in the current month too.
