New Delhi: In a media briefing hours before wrapping up first official visit to India, US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that India is probably nation with highest tariffs.
Responding to a question on trade deal with the country, Trump said, "India is probably nation with highest tariffs; Harley Davidson has to pay a huge amount of tariff and US has to be treated fairly."
The US President has already announced that both the countries negotiating a big trade deal.
Earlier at the Hyderabad House in the national capital, Trump announced that a bilateral defence deal worth USD 3 billion (about Rs 21,000 crore) was signed under which India will buy helicopters from the USA.
Donald Trump is on a 36-hour visit to India. He along with the first lady Melania Trump visited Ahmedabad and Agra before reaching New Delhi.
