Target of 175 GW solar energy by 2022: Harsh Vardhan

New Delhi: Speaking on the environment conservation agendas listed at the Cop 24, Union Minister Harsh Vardhan said that the issues of solar energy generation and shifting to electric vehicles happened to be Prime concerns of this NDA government.

On solar energy Harshvardhan said that we have set an ambitious target of 175 GW by the year 2022 and we are already using solar energy to run pumps in wildlife areas. He further added that the power ministry feels that we will be able to achieve the target well before the deadline.

The Union Minister for environment also press PM Modi for showing world the way in environment conservation. He said " RPM has guided us to take some important steps like the international solar Alliance with which India is showing the world the way towards conservation"

The Union Minister at Paryavaran Bhawan also launched a new project for lion conservation in Gujarat for which over the years 95 crores would be given.
