Chennai: Industry body Southern India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) in a bid to encourage startups has come out with a contest for them across five sectors.
SICCI President R Ganapathi in a press release said, "The SICCI contest for startups has been constituted to reward and recognize startups that have created a mark in the industry."
SICCI is one of the oldest chambers of commerce in the country. The contest is open for startups operating in
agriculture, technology, energy, healthcare, water, and waste management sectors.
"At a time when the country is going through a period of ecological distress, it is vital for us to create an environment for startups to pioneer more sustainable solutions," Ganapathi said.
According to him, any startup that has completed five years of operations in the southern region was eligible to register for the contest through the website: http:icci.in.
