Rs 20,000 crore compensation cess to be disbursed to states: FM Nirmala Sitharaman

New Delhi: Addressing the press conference on the 42nd GST council meeting Monday Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman says that Rs 20,000 crore compensation cess to be disbursed to states.

Also, the Finance Secretary said that GST Council exempts satellite launch services by ISRO, Antrix. Finance Minister said GST Council decides to extend compensation cess beyond June 2022.

GST Council will meet on Oct 12 to further deliberate on compensating states for GST cess shortfall.
