Ola scooter sale begins, know all about price, financing & delivery

New Delhi: Ola electric scooters will hit the road soon as the sale will commence on Wednesday. The scooter delivery to customers will begin in October. Ola Electric Mobility has offered two variants of scooters S1 and S1 Pro which electric vehicle lovers can choose from. Even it is costly, it has a great range of options.

According to a company statement, customers can choose between the two models and 10 colours and change them at the time of making the purchase. Ola has also tied up with several financing companies and the EMI for the S1 model starts at Rs 3,000 and for Rs S1 Pro model at Rs 3,200.

How to buy an Ola Electric Scooter?

Ola said the purchase window for Ola S1 has opened on September 8, Wednesday, for anyone who booked the scooter on its official site after paying a token amount of Rs 499 in July this year.

“The entire process is seamlessly digital and can be done from home. No visiting showrooms, no running around, nothing. Purchasing early gets you priority delivery. Also, the window stays open only until stocks last,” Ola said in a statement sent to ETV Bharat. In addition to the booking amount, a customer will be required to pay Rs 20,000 for Ola S1 and Rs 25,000 for Ola S1 Pro and the balance will be paid when the scooter is shipped to the customer.

How much Ola Scooter will cost you?

The price of an Ola scooter varies from state to state due to the different subsidies offered by different States in addition to the subsidy offered by the Central government under the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles- II (FAME-II) policy to promote manufacturing and adoption of electric vehicles in the country.

While the ex-showroom price of Ola S1 in the national capital Delhi will be Rs 85,099 the S1 Pro will cost you Rs 110,149. The prices are after adjustment of state and central subsidies.

The Ola EV scooters are the cheapest in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state Gujarat where the ex-showroom price of S1 model is Rs 79,999 and Rs 109,999 for S1 Pro model. In Rajasthan, the S1 model is priced at Rs 89,968 and S1 Pro at Rs 119,138. In Maharashtra and Odisha, S1 model would cost you Rs 94,999 and S1 Pro would cost Rs 124,999 and in all other States the S1's ex-showroom price is Rs 99,999 and S1 Pro's ex-showroom price is Rs 129,999.

Financing options for Ola electric scooter

The company has arranged several financing options through its unit Ola Financial Services. OFS has arranged to finance from IDFC First Bank, HDFC, and TATA Capital among others.

According to the company, while HDFC Bank will provide pre-approved loans to eligible customers on the Ola and Ola Electric apps, TATA Capital and IDFC First Bank will process digital KYC and provide instant loan approvals to eligible customers. The company advised its customers to keep Aadhaar number, Pan Card and Proof of address handy to keep the process seamless.

If a customer doesn’t need financing then it can simply go ahead with an advance payment of Rs 20,000 for Ola S1 and Rs 25,000 for Ola S1 Pro and the balance will be paid when the company invoices the scooter to the customer.“Both your down-payment and advance are completely refundable if you wish to cancel your booking. Cancellation is allowed only till the scooter is shipped from the Ola Future Factory,” it said.

Insurance for Ola electric scooter

Ola has also arranged several options for insurance of Ola scooters through its Apps. Ola’s partner ICICI Lombard offers comprehensive vehicle insurance policies. However, a base policy of ‘1-year Own Damage and 5 years Third Party’ is mandatory for registration. Buyers can also add other options such as a personal accident cover, zero depreciation, and roadside assistance.

Ola Electric Scooter Test Ride

Ola will allow buyers to test ride its electric scooters next month and they will also be allowed to cancel the booking before the vehicle is shipped to them if they are not satisfied with the performance of the scooter.

Home delivery of Ola electric scooter

The delivery will commence next month but the company has not given any definite date for this. The scooter will be delivered directly to the customer’s place. Buyers will have to pay the remaining amount a few days before the shipment if they do not opt for financing. However, if they opt for a loan then they will have to complete the loan agreement before the EV is shipped to them. If a buyer misses the payment date then the scooter will be reallocated to someone else. The buyer, however, can come back later to complete the purchase but they will get a new delivery date. Customers will be notified of the tentative delivery date when the purchase opens on Wednesday (September 8).

Servicing Ola Electric Scooter

According to Ola, its electric scooter is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) driven smart vehicle that frees the buyers from the traditionally scheduled maintenance cycles of every 3 months or 6 months with predictive maintenance. The AI-driven smart scooter will tell the users when something needs replacing or servicing and a doorstep service can be booked on the Ola Electric App.
