New Delhi: The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) said that now passengers will have to reach the airport three hours prior for domestic flights and four hours for international flights. This step has been taken for security reasons ahead of Independence Day.
This new rule will be in force from August 10 to August 30. Security has been beefed up across the country to counter security threats in the backdrop of the passage of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Bill, that seeks to divide erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir State into two union territories - Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

As per the directions, all the vehicles coming in the periphery of airports will be thoroughly checked. Whether the vehicles are in parking lots, outside the terminal or engaged in pick and drop service.
Also,
Besides the passengers, all the employees - pilots, crew staff and ground staff - should also undergo rigorous security check in the airport premises.
