New Delhi: Former finance minister Arun Jaitley said that the government's decision regarding Article 370 is an important decision in the direction of national integration.
Jaitley, in a tweet, said that the decision of amending Article 370 and Article 35A will make the residents of Jammu and Kashmir the most beneficial. He also said that this amendment will prove to be helpful in running the nation together and will be proved right in various ways.
The former finance minister further stated that after this decision, the state will get better investment, industry, private educational institutions, more jobs and more revenue.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that it is something the country has been waiting for the last 70 years. She further said that with this development she is sure that the true development and integration of Jammu and kashmir will happen now onwards.
BSP, BJD, AAP, Shiv Sena, YSR Congress in support
On the proposal for amendment of Article 370, BSP's Satish Chandra Mishra said that we fully in support the amendment. We want the bill to be passed. Besides, the Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal also tweeted and said that they are in favour of this amendment. Apart from this, BJD, Shiv Sena and YSR Congress have also supported this proposal.
Congress, PDP, TMC in protest
In the Rajya Sabha, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said that we are with the Constitution of India. We will put our lives to protect the Constitution of India, but today the BJP killed the Constitution. At the same time, TMC leader Derek O'Brien called this amendment a fraud with the Constitution. Former finance minister P Chidambaram termed this amendment as "unconstitutional" and said that today is the black day for democracy.
