New Delhi: In a major development, Income Tax Department Wednesday attached assets to the tune of Rs 2,000 crore belonging to former CM J Jayalalithaa's close aide Sasikala.
As per an ANI report, the assets are located in Kodanad and Siruvathur locations of Tamil Nadu.
The move comes on the day when AIADMK announced Edappadi K Palaniswamy as CM candidate signalling an end to thorny issue of leadership in the party.
To recall, income tax officials conducted raids across 150 places belonging to Sasikala, her family members and aides in 2017.
