Business Desk, ETV Bharat: Apple Inc. finally launched its online store in India on Wednesday offering the company’s full range of products and support directly to customers across the country.

Till now, Indian customers could buy Apple products like iPhone, iPad and Mac from authorized resellers or e-commerce marketplaces like Amazon and Flipkart. But now, Apple is incentivizing customers for buying directly from them by offering some exclusive advantages. Take a look:

Cashbacks

In an introductory offer, Apple is offering its customers up to 6% cashback (maximum of Rs 10,000) on all orders over Rs 20,900 if they choose to pay by HDFC credit cards. Users can avail maximum of 1 order per card and the offer ends 16 October 2020.

Multiple payment and EMI options

At Apple, customers can pay with credit and debit card, credit card EMI, RuPay, UPI, Net Banking and credit card on delivery. You can choose to pay upfront or buy through the no-cost EMI option. The website has an option where customers can check and calculate the monthly instalment options depending on the credit card they have.

Delivery on all orders is free. And the company is shipping with the provision of no-contact delivery keeping in mind the ongoing pandemic.

Apple Trade-Ins

If shopping directly from Apple’s new website, customers can save on the new iPhone by exchanging any of their old smartphones to lower the price of their cart — and even their monthly instalments.

Apple Trade-In makes it easy to exchange any eligible smartphone for instant credit. Customers just need answer a few questions regarding brand, model and condition, after which a trade-in value will be provided. Apple will then complete the trade-in right at the customer’s doorstep at the time when the new iPhone is delivered.

For instance, Apple is offering up to Rs 35,000 as trade-in value of iPhone XS Max, while it is up to Rs 24,000 for iPhone XR. A comprehensive list can be found on the website with estimated trade-in values of smartphones of other brands and models.

Moreover, if a customer’s smartphone is too old and isn’t eligible for trade-in, Apple is offering free service to get the phone recycled.

Special discounts for students/lecturers

If a customer is buying an Apple device for university, then he/she may be eligible for additional savings, too. Those shopping at the Apple Store for Education can save up to Rs 23,990 on a new Mac, and up to Rs 7,445 on a new iPad.

Education pricing is available to current and newly accepted university students, parents buying for university students, and teachers and staff at all levels. Customers in these categories need to verify their student or staff status to shop with education pricing at apple.com. They can also verify over the phone with their ID or acceptance letter.

Personalized configuration

Customers buying online at Apple can customise their Mac to suit their needs – whether it is memory, additional storage or an extra-powerful graphics card.

Apple has also announced that in order to prepare for the festive season, signature gift wrap and personalised engraving will be available for select products. Engraving of emoji or text in English, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu will be available for AirPods, and English engraving will be available for iPad and Apple Pencil.

Free online session with expert on every purchase

Customers can schedule a free session with an Apple specialist and cover any topics they want regarding their product at the time of purchase. The customer receives an invitation from the company to schedule the one-on-one online session once the product ships.

For instance, if buying an iPhone, the customer can seek an expert’s help on transferring data or get a crash course in photo editing, or learn how to control privacy.

Customers can get advice, receive guidance, and learn about new products directly from Apple, both in English and Hindi.
