Chhattisgarh: Women dies after sterilization

A nurse's negligence claimed a woman's life who recently gave birth to twins and underwent sterilization. Police said they would soon arrest the accused and take necessary action.

Baloda Bazaar: A woman, who recently delivered twins, died due to the negligence of a nurse during sterilization.

Purnima, a resident of Guma village of Blauda Bazaar, visited her father's house and on the advice of the family, she decided to undergo sterilization.

To take medical advice she went to a nurse, Dageshwari Yadu, who lives at Ramsagar pond in the city. The nurse assured Purnima to treat her.

In the meantime, with the help of former CMHO Pramod Tiwari of Baloda Bazaar, Nurse Dageshwari Yadu done sterilization of Purnima in her own house on May 20 and gave her leave after 3 hours.

Purnima returned home after the sterilization, then on 22nd, her health worsened again. At 8 pm the Purnima's family took her to the nurse's house where she discharged her after the treatment.
On 23, when the family members came at nurse's house with the poor health of Purnima, that time former CMHO Pramod Tiwari was present there.

CMHO Pramod Tiwari helped the family and took Purnima to his son's private clinic. Seeing her serious condition, she was referred to the health hospital in Raipur. Where she died during the treatment. It is to be noted that three months ago, Purnima had given birth to twins.

Dageshwari Yadu was a Nurse in Khainda Sub-Health Center and she has opened a clinic at her house, where she used to do operation and delivery and claims to treat patients. Dageshwari has also been suspended in the past and due to these acts, she also had gone jail twice.

She is at large and switched off her mobile too. Pramod Tiwari has also given his statement regarding this matter.

Police and Collector said that they will soon arrest the accused and will take actions against her.
