Vice President Naidu hopes for consensus in South China Sea

On his visit to Vietnam, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu hinted towards a peaceful solution for the territorial dispute between the concerned parties in the South China Sea, which includes China as well. Hailing the economic engagement between both countries in recent years, Naidu claimed that bilateral trade has doubled and reached $14 bn from $7 bn in the last three years.

Hanoi (Vietnam): Reaffirming India's commitment towards further strengthening the bilateral ties in trade and defence sectors with Vietnam, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu hinted towards a peaceful solution for the territorial dispute between the concerned parties in the South China Sea, which includes China as well.

The Vice President called his talks with his counterpart Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh extensive and productive.

He claimed that discussions covered the issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

Hailing the economic engagement between both countries in recent years, Naidu claimed that bilateral trade has doubled and reached $14 bn from $7 bn in the last three years.

Not only this, he also stressed that he looks forward to direct air connectivity between both countries which will start later this year.

Naidu began his day-two with a warm welcome from the officials of the Indian Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam. Moments later, he paid tribute to heroes and martyrs of Vietnam at the monument of national heroes and martyrs.
