Ajmer: Three shops and an oil godown were gutted in a major fire that broke out Saturday due to a short circuit at a 'mandi', near Beawar Road in Ajmer.
According to officials, no loss of life was reported so far, also added there might be chances of loss of life as a worker is missing since the fire broke out.
Meanwhile, the police officials claimed that more than 20-ton edible oil stored in the godown and grains and cattle feed stored in three shops at Beawar road destroyed in the fire which was controlled by fire tenders.
The fire broke out in the morning. Fire brigades from GAIL India Ltd, Nasirabad, were also pressed into service. The flames have been contained and the situation is under control," they added.
This is the second major fire incident from Rajasthan in the last 10 day. On May 29, a massive fire had broken out at an oil refinery in Bikaner. The firefighters managed to douse the blaze at Bikaner oil refinery after mega operations that ran for more than five hours.
