New Delhi/Patna: Disgruntled BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha, who was initially set to join the Congress party on Thursday, said that meeting with AICC President Rahul Gandhi went well and indicated that he might join the party either during Navratri, as per the party's mandate, or during an auspicious time.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Sinha reiterated that he was an MP from Patna Sahib and would contest from the same constituency, even if he joined a new party.
Sinha's entry into the party was reportedly delayed due to the ongoing tiff between the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), over the seat-sharing allocations of Lok Sabha seats in Bihar.
Sources also said thatSenior Congress leaders from Bihar were also present at Rahul Gandhi's residence.
"Today, I just came to meet Rahul Gandhi. When I will join the party, we will discuss this later," the actor-turned-politician said.
Hinting his inclination to contest from the Patna Sahib, from which he was a two-term MP for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sinha said that he would not change the location, 'whatever might be the situation'.
According to sources, if the two parties are not able to reach an agreement over seats, the 'Mahagathbandhan' is likely to collapse.
