New Delhi: After the meeting of Congress Working Committee (CWC) on Saturday, speculations were rife about Congress President Rahul Gandhi's resignation. Putting an end to the speculations, senior Congress leader Pramod Tiwari made it clear that Rahul Gandhi has offered to resign from his post.
But Tiwari added that instead of offering his resignation, Gandhi should have rather asked for resignations of those who had brought the party to such worse position.
Saying that the party needs strong leadership, he said "Whenever Congress is not led by a member of Nehru-Gandhi family, the conditions have worsened. Period between1977 to 89 was the worst for Congress."
Tiwari refused to reply when asked about the obsession of Congress leaders of handing over their position to their family members of only.
