4 die of asphyxiation in septic tank in Haryana

Four part-time workers died after they inhaled toxic fumes while cleaning a septic tank at a private company in Haryana.

Rohtak (Haryana): Four part-time municipal sweepers hired by a private company to clean a septic tank died of asphyxiation on Wednesday here in Haryana after inhaling toxic fumes, the police said.

The company had not provided gas masks or safety belts to the sweepers.

The police have registered a case and investigations are underway.
