New Delhi: The Congress party conducted a meeting under the leadership of Jyotiraditya Scindia and Priyanka Gandhi on Tuesday in Delhi to review its failure in the recently-concluded Lok Sabha polls. All the MPs and MLAs were present in the meeting.
Senior Congress leader Pramod Tiwari told ETV Bharat that in the meeting, Congress reviewed its defeat in many strongholds areas like Amethi and other constituencies.
It is to be noted that five months before the Lok Sabha elections, Congress party successfully formed its government in three BJP-ruled states- Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.
"As a chief of the party, Rahul Gandhi has to decide who is responsible for such a big defeat of the party. Party has to decide who to work with or not," said Pramod Tiwari.
At present, India’s grand old party is going through an unprecedented existential crisis. Congress has been wiped out from many big states. In UP, Bihar and Maharashtra, it only won one 1 seat each and in West Bengal, it managed to win three seats.
talking about Congress supporting Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Bengal, Pramod Tiwari said that Congress did not have any alliance with TMC and it was baseless to say that the party had a soft corner for Mamta Banerjee.
