Bhopal: Major decisions were taken by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath in a meeting with Urban Administration officials. Urban Development and Housing Minister Jayewardhan Singh was also present in the meeting.
'Water Rights Act' will be made to provide adequate water for every person in the state. Apart from this, the state government will also provide financial assistance for the construction of housing for urban dwellers on the government land which will be on the lease.
CM Kamal Nath adviced that while making the Master Plan to control the traffic in urban areas, the possibility of expansion should be given priority.
He further direct to construct ring roads around the cities to ease traffic burden in the coming time and State-level Mini Smart City policy to be prepared. He also spoke of developing the Metropolitan area in Bhopal and Indore.
He instructed the Urban Development Officers to complete the planning of metro trains in the state as soon as possible.
The Chief Minister also said that the government has made a plan to construct housing for urban dwellers using the new financial model. So that more and more housing units can be constructed to benefit people. He has also instructed to collect information about the available government land in all the districts of the state and to use them in the implementation of housing schemes.
Talking about the need for extensive improvement in the environment in urban areas, CM Kamal Nath said that a program for tree plantation at a macro level in the rainy season should be made.
Chief Minister directed that utilize the available amount from the latest financial model to spent on the schemes to ensure maximum utilization of the available amount.
